37,000 new self employed people in Ontario this June

I reflected fondly upon working with start ups a few weeks back; my hope remains that out of this recession there will emerge a slew of creative ideas and new business ventures.

My hopeful hunch was validated when I caught the Star’s updates in today’s career section. 37,000 more self employed people entered our work force last month.

I salute people who have the courage to do their own thing and dare to go out and make it happen.

Much of what they learn and relay can set new precedents for how to be successful in business. The motivation and inspiration they offer once they gain momentum and start to hit critical mass, or even before; is crucial for the reshaping of our economy and our mind sets towards business as a whole.

I am the founder of i-identify inc., a Toronto-based recruiting company, founded in 2013. My research uncovers full-time, interim and contract professionals who are leaders in their respective fields. My early work was focused on the emerging tech - sector, and later expanded into retail and consumer packaged goods technologies. In the past five to six years I have broadened my expertise to include Canada's public and not-for-profit sectors, working on assignments as far north as Iqaluit, uncovering talent as senior as Deputy Ministers, Commissioners and executives at the C level. I've become a search generalist who specializes in identifying great talent.
