5 Ways to Stay “Almost Famous” (on Twitter) – Confessions of a Blogging Junkie

almost-famousI am eternally thankful for my following of Blog readers from i-identify and Socialhire . It’s because of re-tweets and the incredible following that Social Hire has all over the world, that I have maintained a twitter following of close to 2k.

Confession, my last post before this one was March of 2014. Blogs like, Don’t Be A LinkedIn Loser and Why LinkedIn Headlines Can Make Or Break You 5 do’s and don’ts   – still to my amazement get a lot of day-to-day attention. One of my Blogs about Doing What You Do With Love got me dozens of private messages and thanks from people who felt reassured by their career choices – no longer wondering if they were on the right path.

I used to hunch over my iPhone at work tweeting in tweet chats and catching that incredible social media buzz you get from all the attention and koodos. Posting my Blogs and getting all that Twitter Love. What a fix. I hear social media attention is The New Currency, it was mine for years. Pretty sure I started and ended my day on twitter. Not so much now. My life has new meaning. Ha! I’m hooked on Instagram

You Ask: Are you Going To Start Blogging Again? Answer: Occasionally – I’ve done my time and a lot of what I’ve talked about over the past 7+ years has now been talked about to death. If a new POV hits me that is disruptive and interesting, I’ll be sure to pull up my Word Press and publish.

I am the founder of i-identify inc., a Toronto-based recruiting company, founded in 2013. My research uncovers full-time, interim and contract professionals who are leaders in their respective fields. My early work was focused on the emerging tech - sector, and later expanded into retail and consumer packaged goods technologies. In the past five to six years I have broadened my expertise to include Canada's public and not-for-profit sectors, working on assignments as far north as Iqaluit, uncovering talent as senior as Deputy Ministers, Commissioners and executives at the C level. I've become a search generalist who specializes in identifying great talent.
